Hello to all Monaco Americans and Visitors!

Our 15th Anniversary Rally in Goshen, Indiana was held in October 2016 and what a rally it was!  Enjoying old friends and making new ones, eating great food, and experiencing exciting entertainment were the highlights.  We savored excellent Amish food, both at the rally and in the homes of Amish families.  Over several evening's entertainment we had a magician, a juggler, and an a cappellla doo-wop group who sang our favorite Rock and Roll, Country, and Gospel songs by Conway Twitty, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Elvis, and a host of one-hit-wonder groups who's songs we remember but who's names we forget.  Of course, Lee Greenwood's Proud To Be An American brought tears to our eyes.  Superb!
Continuing our Monaco America tradition of full water/electric/sewer hookups, the fairground facilities were excellent.  Coach washing and on-site maintenance were available.  Seminars, roundtable discussions, crafts, a vendor-provided cookout, ice cream social, catered meals, social hours, a Ladies Tea, a trip to the RV/MH Hall of Fame, and a motorhome factory tour -- all the typical fun of a Monaco America rally...!!!  We had members come from as far away as California, Washington state, Florida, Delaware, Arizona and everywhere in between representing at least 24 states across the USA.
I want to thank all the volunteers who made this rally a success, especially Allen and Sharon Jackson our wagonmasters.  Monaco America is a non-profit club and no one receives a salary or in-kind payment.  We all volunteer to do the parking, greeting, clean-up, crafts, seminars, social bar, welcome desk, and on and on.  It's a lot of work by a lot of enthusiastic members.  We donated more than $1,800 to the Ronald McDonald House from our Ladies Tea and ROMEO luncheon.  Thank you all!
But there's more...!!!  Our next rally will be May 8-11 next year in Dothan, Alabama at the National Peanut Festival location.  And following that our October rally will be in Branson, Missouri.  Make your plans now to attend both!  Watch our club website for detailed information as our plans are made.  All FMCA members are welcome to attend, and towables are welcome as guests of attending members, so bring all your friends.
Drive safely, enjoy the RV lifestyle, and I'll see you at the next rally.

Sonny Hodge
President, Monaco America

Ladies Tea News

I am looking forward to our Ladies Tea activities.  Watch this space for more information.

We are looking forward to Craft Classes in Goshen to be presented by Carol Lenoir.  See you in Goshen, IN in October!

Suellen Hodge
Ladies Tea and Craft Coordinator

Thank You for All Your Support Over the Years

Since this is my last article as craft coordinator I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has taught a class at our rallies, especially Peggy Morris who has pitched in when I really  needed a class.  Also thanks to everyone who helped me set up, clean up or assisted in teaching a craft. Thanks to everyone that attended the classes I hope you enjoyed them. I know Suellen will have lots of new things for us to enjoy.

What can I say but thanks to all the ladies that hosted a Tea through the years.  I have been very proud of all the support we have given to the numerous community organizations through the years. Ladies, you did good.

The Goshen Tea will support The Ronald McDonald House in South Bend, IN at the October 2016 rally.  They have three separate requests: The Ronald McDonald House, The Cart With a Heart, and Stitches of Hope.

Ronald McDonald House needs are: Gift cards to Walmart, Target, Office Depot and Office Max, Meijer and Martin Grocery stores, also phone cards.  Individual chips, pretzel and Doritos snack packs, single serve cereal boxes, granola bars, pudding and fruit cups, juice boxes, bottled water, coffee.  Also toilet tissue, air fresheners, paper towels, dish soap. Postage stamps and copy paper. Plus the usual personal care items.

The Cart With Heart:  They take snacks, juices, water and cookies around every afternoon to the patients and parents.  The little individual packages are best.

Stitches Of Hope:  This group provides clothing for anyone in need while they are there. Baby items are needed especially quilts and blankets. Since it will be close to Christmas items for teenagers would be welcomed.  They are unable to accept any used clothing, toys or appliances.

We had decided at the Rayne Tea we would like to make a huge donation of pop-tabs. So save ‘em and bring all you can collect.

On June 9, 2016 The Rayne Acadian Tribune printed a front and second page picture and article about our donations to the Daily Manna and the Veterans Park.

As this is my last report on The Ladies Teas, it has been a most rewarding and memorable time.

Thank you,
Carole Granat
